Don't ask me why I even bother posting this!

I found a number of people who look like Hilary Duff.
Hilary Duff lookalikes:
The Hilary Duff today looks like...

Mika Nakashima. If Mika smiles she looks somewhat like Hilary. Thing to recognize: Mika's lips are bigger.

Nichole from Girlicious. People keep saying Nichole looks like Hilary. I didn't realize that until I purposely examined. Nichole's head is more square than Hilary's.

Little Hilary in the Lizzy McGuire days looks like Eriko Imai from SPEED.

    <lj:music>Maneater- Nelly Furtado</lj:music>

These are songs that I've been listening to for the second half of the year. Hit Western 2007 songs will be posted as a new topic

Flowin ~Ukigumo~- Yuu Asakawa and Houko Kuwashima
This is an ending song of some anime called "Harukanaku Toki no Nake De", I think. I haven't watched or know about the show. But I like this song just for the heck of sounding good. I can't exactly describe how the song goes very well but it has a smooth pop tune. The melody is catchy in a mature kind of way. I especially like the verses. It's very melancholic.
Similar: Heart on Wave- dream, Truth- Nami Tamaki

Home Party- Home Made Kazoku
I liked this song for a while. It's a very catchy song you can really dance (and party) to. The percussion music reminds me of those BGM from Cartoon Network (like Powerpuff Girls).
Similar- Powerpuff Girls BGM

Sublimial- Masami Okui
This is not your typical Masami Okui song. I like it because it is unique from your typical anime-like music. Basically this is a rap rock/nu metal song. The rapping part is awesome, and your typical badass attitude. lol
Similar- Papa Roach, Sum 41 (rap)

Red- Masami Okui
Boy I've been listening to Masami during summer. This is another one that I like. It isn't like those rock songs from the whole album Godspeed. The song has a latino style, and a soft contrast to the butt kicking Sublimial. One thing though, the chorus sounds awfully familiar. Reminds me of some very popular song I have no idea what it's called or who it's sang by.
Similar- I don't know what that song is called that sounds like the chorus!

Find Myself- Eriko Imai
Eriko Imai (ex. SPEED) is another artist I've been listening to a lot over the summer. Find Myself is one of my favourites. This song is both fun sounding and sensitive at the same time, which is quite cool. The instrumental background pop rock, with driving guitar riffs I enjoy in the bridge. Cool
Similar-

Perfect Girl- Kim Wilde
(Author's commentary: Is Kim Wilde the only singer I listen to that sings Full English???) Well, not exactly. But yes, her music is as always, catchy since I first heard her in Kids in America and Water on Glass. Perfect Girl's is just another part of the whole lineup of favourites. This is probably the song that particularly stood out for me in the summer- early fall of 2007. The whole song is fast paced. Even one of my friends think it's too "genki" for her taste. Yes it's pretty genki for someone as old as my mom! This I say is one of her newer songs, so it sounds more rock. I also like the flute sound that plays in the chorus, as well as the instrumental bridge I couldn't describe. Sounds like an anime opening song.
Similar- Brand New Day- Aice5

Startin'- Ayumi Hamasaki
I'm getting back to listening to some Ayu. Now about the song. Startin' is a funny song I'd had to say, not not the funny Haha way. The song has a driving rock pop techno tune. The opening reminds me of some cool opening song. Now what I find funny are a few things, the beginning instrumentals, the bridge, the end instrumentals. the PV. Sounds like some kind of action flick.
Similar- TM Revolution

Game- Ayumi Hamsaki
It's similar, and different from Startin'. The beginning has a sad classical feel. Then there goes a drivy rock sound suddenly, and is sorta like this till the end of the song. The weirdest part is right after the bridge, where Ayu sings the chorus when sounds just hit you. Another song great for an action flick, except a more angsty one.
Similar- -w- Masami Okui, (don't) Leave me Alone- Ayumi Hamasaki

Love Like Crazy- Nocchiura Natsumi
This is the b-side song for NN's single hit. I like it because it's "cool". What I mean by that is the rapping and the driving beats. It's a weird hip hop/rap song, which sounds quite artificial though. The catchy part: practically every line ends with 'shite'.
Similar- Salt5

Garnet Moon- Hitomi Shimatani
I like this song for a while, too, then I got bored. Like most Hitomi Shimatani songs, they either sound like techno or classical blend with dance. This song sounds like techno, with a lot of action. Hitomi's voice sounds deep and sophisticated, which fits with this somewhat elegant yet melancholic song.
Similar- Eien no Toki wo Koete- Ayaka from Negima!?, Ami Suzuki

Blood on Fire- AAA
I had mentioned before that AAA sounds like move meets S Club 7. This one sounds more like move and nothing like S Club. It's a fast, catchy song. In fact, it is from Initial D, so expect it to sound like Eurobeat. I like it because of the female vocals that sound a lot like Megumi Hayashibara, especially in the chorus. The rapping is great too, but somewhat unclear.
Similar- m.o.v.e, Initial D

Dancing Natsu Matsuri- 10 Nin Matsuri
My interest of this song is quite debatable. This song is very fun to dance to, yet so annoying. That's is why I bother talking about it. I like the voice distributions among the singers. Though, the annoying part is when everyone starts yelling "WASSHOI!" like, a gazillion times. I'll go and count how many "WASSHOI!"'s are there some time. I also like this song because a couple of singers sound like Yuna and Ako from Negima. Also, I thought this would be a great song to perform to where someone's late for math class.
Similar-

Baby Koi ni Knock Out!- PucchiMoni
This is the other song that stood out in the last half of 2007, and I've been into this song for a couple months. It's one heck of a catchy bubblegum pop song, and fun to dance and exercise with. (Though it is kinda fast) I also like it because Kei Yasuda sounds like Ako and Hitomi Yoshizawa sounds like Yuna from Negima. The also sang in Dancing! Natsu Matsuri too. And Maki Goto's in it too lol. This song is funny too when a villain starts quitely goes "Muhaha!" randomly. A great kickboxing song too. Reminds me of either a Chinese Cooking TV series or something Russian.
Similar- Kelly Chen, Twins

Infinity- Rina Aiuchi
This song I've only listened for a limited time. I especially like the introduction. It sounded like The BeeGee's Spinning Alive. Except in a more energetic rock way. After the introduction the rest sounds okay. Though Rina's voice is pretty good.
Similar- Ami Suzuki, Nami Tamaki

I.L.Y. (Desire)- Olivia
This is Olivia's debut song as a solo artist, so it may sound quite different from her work now. It's not like very different like So Beautiful, but it has a more passive pop rock sound with a jazzy vibe. She sounds angsty in some parts but overall it's pretty decent.
Similar-

Lovin' You- Nanase Aikawa
Haha another song by a recurring artist (like Yui Horie and Kim Wilde). This song, like what I usually tend to like, strays away from her rock image. An emotional song, Lovin' you has a more ambient, easy listening approach. The begining part reminded me of something Yui Horie would sing. The bridge when some English rapper starts saying something reminds me of Timbaland, wait, the who instrumental style is Timbalandish too lol. Oh, and btw, there is also a song with the same title as Yui Horie.
Similar- Enya, Yui Horie- So Depecher, Dependence, Scream- Timbaland feat. Nicole Scherzinger

Teki ga Inakerya- B'z
This is not one of the main songs by B'z, but I like it because it's fun. For some reason I like songs that are b-sided, rather than the main single. Also, I like it because the whole song is sang within three minutes, rather than those 5 minute songs I've listen to and get bored from the length. The song is basically a typical rock sound, except more stronger and old school. This is a song from the album "Loose". Oddly enough, like Nelly Furtado's "Loose", this is B'z's best selling album (minus the bests). Hmm... now I wonder if "Loose" sells as a title.
Similar-

On My Way- Yui Horie
Yay! Another Yui Horie song! *hehe* This song is another song that sounds away from her typical old school or cute songs. This song sounds more emotional and mainstream from her mostly anime sounding stuff. I always tend to listen to the songs that sound less animeish. I don't know exactly how to describe this song or the style. It's sorta weird when it comes to style.
Similar- Ayumi Hamasaki, Hilary Duff

Aoi Sports car no Otoko-- Aoiro 7
Another song by a Hello! Project shuffle group. I like it because it's fun and cool at the same time. This song as a somewhat punk pop rock tune, sorta like varsity-ish. The synthy instrumentals are my most favourites of the song. The instrumental bridge with a awesome techno-synth reminded me of Justin Timberlake's Sexyback. You know, the part where you say "Get your sexy on". Overall, a catchy song.
Similar:
<lj:music>Thinking of you- ATC</lj:music>

I made a review before so I'm pasting it here

UTA no CD 2.

1. Eien No Toki wo Koete (永遠のときを越えて)- Ayaka
This is a great song, as the alternate opening to Negima!? (2nd anime) when Negi turned into a Chupacabra. Anyways, about the song. It's sorta a blend between pop and classical. The style is somewhat Chinese like.
Rating (out of 5):3.5
Similar artists/songs: Hitomi Shimatani

2. YELL◎- the Cheerleaders
Sounds like disco era songs with a bit of experimental percussion in the beginning. Another outgoing song.
Rating: 3
Similar: YMCA

3. Egao no Hana (笑顔の花)- Sayo/Kazumi
I'm not too big on this song, sounds like another generic starchild song.
Rating: 2
Similar: Minami Kurabayashi, slower animes songs in general

4. Neopolian no Sauce- Shichimi and Motsu
An odd song. Are they either singing? Or they are just talking? The instrumental is Russian like. Then the song gets faster as the song progresses.
Rating: 2
Similar: Russian folk songs

5. Joker?!- Mana and Zazie
The second best song in the Uta no CD. At least the style is different from most others. It sounds hip hop like. Yes I know Mana and Zazie are... (racially stereotyped song). The rapping is a bit... *no comment*. SAY WHAT???
Rating: 4
Similar: Nocchiura Natsumi- Love Like Crazy, songs you hear in French class in Canada

6. Go! Go! My Stars!- Chao, Satomi, Satsuki
Like most Starchild song, they play bubblegum pop melodies only pleasable to preschool children. And this song is no exception.
Rating: 2
Similar: W

7. Nippon no Kokoro (日本の心)- Eva and Chachamaru
The song title is sorta controversial. Although the song is called Nippon no Kokoro (Japanese heart), but the background music is, Hawaiian?? How about some Huckleberry Finn? I would rather recommend you listen to Maze of the Dark.
Rating: 2
Similar: Western folk fishing songs

8. Mayonaka no Philosophy (真夜中のPhilosophy)- Yue
Many people claim they hate this song. Reason? The song sounds weird. Sounds like a cross between BossaNova and Rock beats
Rating: 2

9. Ijiwaru na Kuchibiru (イジワルな唇)- Chisame
Best song in the album, although I am not a Chisame fan. The beginning starts as a violin ballad then it turns into a catchy dance tune. Yumi Shimura (VA) sounds pretty good in the song. An upbeat yet dramatic rhythm, which makes you wanna tap your feet and dance. I recommend this song over Suki ni Natte mo E-yo.
Rating: 4.8
Similar: Hitomi Shimatani, Bond Girls, Can't Fight the Moonlight (remix)- LeAnn Rimes

10. Infinity Love 2U- Yuuna, Akira, Ako, Misora
I like it. It sounds happy but not in a babyish kind of way. Reminds me of a graduation song. Part pop, part jazz.
Rating: 4
Similar: Spice Girls, Sailor Moon

11. Sugar Memory- Ayaka and Asuna
I don't like this song honestly. First of all, I hate Ayaka and Asuna. Second of all the tune sounds too oldies. Oldies Western songs.
Rating: 1.5
Similar: Girls, be Ambitious! (Kazumi, Natsumi, Chizuru, Zazie)

12. Never Give Up!- Setsuna and Konoka
The last song in the UTA no CD. I, again am not a fan of childish bubblegum techno songs. If you're a KonoSetsu fan, stick to Sei Naru Sora no Shita De.
Rating: 2
Similar:W

<lj:music>Lovin' You- Nanase Aikawa</lj:music>

No, I'm not a fan of that old show in MuchMusic, but then anyways that show isn't on anymore. Since I'm into music reviews, how about a game of combat zone with way artists with the same titles.

ANZA's version
What I like to say about this version is it is one of the only two songs ANZA sang solo in 8 years. The result, very different style from her older singles and HPP stuff. Now back to the review. I know I have talked about this song once already but I'm gonna talk about it again in a different way. It's a ballad that sounds like soft rock. In the verses she changes from gentle to emotional. Then in the chorus she gets so emotional that she sounds like she's crying for some reason. The "I love you, lovin' you" is sensitive. Not bad of a song, it's hanky panky.
Similar artists and taste in style is posted in ANZA's review.

Yui Horie's version
Now I'm gonna review this song at least this one's not reviewed formally yet. This is the very first Yui Horie song, and the song that got me into Yui Horie (the other is Love Destiny). While I was having fandom on Sister Princess I checked out this song and it's indeed awsome and catchy.
The song sounds moderate tempo, with a pop rock sound. Then the bridge section has some cool orchestral instrumentals. You can actually dance to this song. And at least this one song won't get your mom mad, hopefully. @_@
If you like this, try: Iki mo Dekinai (ZARD), KoiGokoro (Nanase Aikawa)

UnderGraph's version
I heard this song from my friend's Drum Master game. I got hooked to this song for a while. (Note to self, listen to more guys sing)
I don't know what to say about this song, but it's catchy and the guy sounds nice. I think the reason why I like this song is not only cuz the voice, but the skipping pop rock melody. The chorus when the song changed key is my favourite part, and it's dramatic too.

Winner: Yui Horie (no! I'm not being biased, but I'm sure she'll lose to another artist)
<lj:music>Love & Dream- Aice5</lj:music>

... to Aice5 that is. Today is their last day. Well, not exactly because we would talk about Japan time. Aice5 has officially broken up :( But still, I've found some great memories and I've loved their songs.

Meanwhile, here's the reviews of some of the highlights of the Aice5 Tour Final DVD.

Brand New Day- The concert opens with Brand New Day, though before they play the musical box prologue. Then the techy rock instrumental before the vocal begins. Their opening was dramatic when you see the girls dress up as weird looking soldier coats. The most awkward one was Yui Horie with her long hair and the royal blue coat. Anyways, they managed to pull this rock song very well, though live instruments are more ideal for this punk pop melody.

Natural Fly- The song doesn't really fit in with the same coats they were wearing in BND. Not a big fan of this song, so I watched a little and skipped... Their dancing looked like Russian dances because of the coats. After the song the girls talked for a minute or so.

Furi Furi- Now the girls take off their stuffy coats and showed their outfit worn in the "Love Power" album cover. (inside note: the outfit might be exactly the same)

Word I Need- still in brown plaids, the girls perform this tropical melody. The choreography was... juvenille. Choreography is more than just the hands you know.

Yuujou Monogatari- sorta skipped this song. One question, is it strange (and embarassing) that the male audience watching this show enjoy something this kiddish? Ok, I'm pretty sure people like Ryan or Seth from the OC won't be into these kinds of things lol. In fact, the majority of the audience are male in their 20's to 50's. o_O

Act 2: A non-live conversation where the girls talk in a circle of their corresponding colour.
Stardust (Aice5's theme): Enters the techno "opening". I actually liked this act because of the songs and the way better uniforms. Better the jewel coloured tops and black vinyl dress in chains. Although for some reason Yui Horie looks weird in the long hair. In this song each member does a monologue rap. In the end they carried weapon props after they hid behind a flag carried by backup dancers. Yui: a gun (uhh... isn't this a 50 cent thing?). Madoka: a bow. Akemi: a sword. Masumi: a scepter. Chiaki: a daggar.

Five Arrows: like the song itself expect this to be "sexy". Now Aice5 splits in half so Chiaki and Akemi sing this song. Akemi looks great in the hat, and what's with her being the only one in shorts? Not to mention the backup dancers look trashy in comparison to the singers. The singing wasn't that great. It was pulled a bit too far. Chiaki did fine, but Akemi didn't.

Shiroi Tsuki: a bit better performance than FA, Yui, Madoka, and Masumi perform here. It's Madoka's song, so she gets more singing time. She kinda sings sadly though for some reason.

Believe my Love: The girls are back again, with better choreography. In the end they do the booty, oddly enough.

Act3: More bubble convo; a bit weirder than the first. First Madoka's eyes were censored, then Masumi does this weird face.
Marble Locket: Not a big fan of this song, so I skipped. Actually I'm not a big fan of this act. There weren't any good songs in particular. The girls wear white dress with flower patters, sorta like what they wore in Brand New Day.
A short convo after this song.

Eternity (Acappela): No instruments, just the girls singing. Never really heard the original in detail so I don't know what to say about this song.

Short Short Cake: Honestly who sings a song about short short cake. And What kind of guy likes songs about short short cake? Even a 7 year old boy find this song juvenille. The only thing the would at least attract guys attention is the backup dancers.

Another bubble convo. Chiaki "gets drunk".

Get Back: Another well opening act. This time the girls wear pink coats, all alike. How many times have I seen the thumb and pinky sign? Is that all they could do?

Smile: from the outgoing surf rock Get Back to this ballad. Reminds me of Morning Musume.
The lights dim so the girls change into some weird national dance dress.

Love & Dream: Finally some better music for a while. Again mundane choreography mostly consisting of hand movements.

Lady Go: This performance was weird, when Yui Horie leads a Go! Go! chain with her bandmates.

Love Power: Another song with too much hand choreography.

Next Act:
Chiaki birthday conversation. The girls show up in their gold coats seen quite often in pictures. The concept was weird, from cute animal characters to the more glamourous looking clothes worn by hip hoppers (Chiaki seems to be fond of hip hop unlike her bandmates). Look at this corset! the miniskirt, the bling flipflops, all in leopard prints.

Letter: Another ballad. Expect the audience to save their lightsticks.

Get Back: The grand finale. A second performance.
<lj:music>Friendship- W</lj:music>

Interesting songs that I haven't reviewed earlier.

GIMME ALL OF YOUR LOVE!!- Tommy Heavenly6
I liked this song for a short time. It sounds like a more Westernly rock pop style. Later in the bridge Tommy repeatedly chants "Give it to me Gimme all of your love!", like 8 times? There is completely no doubt that Tommy is the Gwen Stefani of Japan.
If you like this, try: let go- Olivia

So Beautiful- OLIVIA
Alright, but this doesn't sound like something emOLIVIA would sing. But it's still one of her best songs. Parts of it sounds like Dark back beats then the chorus sounds like a city dance or club style which I just love. It's part English part Japanese for those of you who like to listen to both. If you're used to listening to the more rock stuff by Olivia, why don't you try listening to this completely different style?
If you like this, try: Dream- ANZA, move

closer- little by little
Another song that that caught me. It sounds like yet another Western rock pop song you'd all heard of. Unlike the previous two songs I mentioned earlier, this one is more subtle but catch at the same time.
If you like this, try: Good Charlotte, Simple Plan

sweet escape- HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR
No! It's not the Gwen Stefani feat. Akon's version that is played in every store you go to. It is a fast paced rock song. I liked it for a while until this song starts to get generic.
If you like this, try: other HaMC songs

Destiny -Taiyou no Hana- - Hitomi Shimatani
The first Hitomi Shimatani song I've heard. It's another cool and mysterious dance song. Well, in a more classical way. The strings are amazing. Why not put this song on Ms. Cherry's National Dance playlist?
If you like this, try: Maneater- Nelly Furtado, bond girls

ZERO- B'z
Yes, I know this is a surprisingly funny song, but not in a funny "Haha" way. The song is probably one of the first B'z songs I've heard and the best so far. It's a lively heavy metal style. Then the chorus changes to another key and sounds like jig. The bridge is the oddest of all. The vocalist "not Tak" starts to rap and then does a Muhahaha! at the end. lol
If you like this, try: the 90's rock songs

Heaven Knows- Nana Mizuki
Oddly enough, I like this song because of ANZA's Mienai Chizu. The chorus sounds almost like MC. While the verses is basically quick rapping that I don't understand. Nana as I mentioned before, sounds like Ayumi Hamasaki. And there's a part before the chorus where it sounds like her. In the end is quite weird because you don't exactly know whether or not Nana is singing in reverse.
If you like this, try: Mienai Chizu- ANZA (no seriously!), Star Jewel- Mayumi Asano, Ayumi Hamasaki

R.U.O.K.!?- Nanase Aikawa
Nanase's new song in like a decade? Well, although the tune is very catchy and fun, but it doesn't reflect Nanase Aikawa's music style well. (No not in the "Bad Girls" dance kind of way) But more the fact that the tune is too generic punk rock we've heard too many times from Green Day.
If you like this, try: Green Day, blink-182, the rock songs you hear in West49 commercials.

Girl Fight- Brook Valentine feat. Big Boi (outkast)
Let's move over with the rock songs for a minute. This is purely hip hop. It's catchy, fun, and got attitude. If you haven't heard of it this song I've used to make an AMV with. Unlike most songs, this is only 2 minutes long.
If you like this, try: Aaliyah

Sakura- Yui Horie
As always no music review in my lj is complete without a Yui Horie song. (or Nanase Aikawa song lol). It's one of her oldest songs but still very good. There's violin tunes that sound great with this pop rock songs. What I like the most is the beat. You can really tap your feet and dance.
If you like this, try: B'z, Hitomi Shimatani

Trust You- Megumi Hayashibara
Finally a slower song. This sounds like a love song and very cute indeed. Who knew Meg could sing something that doesn't sound like jazz pop?
If you like this, try: Takako Uehara, the slow songs from H!P

Cold Hearted Snake- Paula Abdul
Another English song by... an American Idol judge? Yes, I've seen the music video (of PV if you're a Japanophile). Surprisingly Paula is dancing a a bra. Anyways, back to the song. I first heard this song from a Naruto AMV. Another dancy retro song. Back to the video. I was imitating Video on Trial on this then later MuchMusic used this on VOT. Coinsidence?
If you like this, try: Straight up- Paula Abdul

Reach for the Rainbow- Nami Tamaki
Like many Nami songs, this is yet another techno pop song. But this one stood out particularily (Reason and Destiny are the others). My favourite part is the instrumentals with the guitar riffs and synth. The verses are a runner up.
If you like this, try: the other Nami Tamaki songs

Truth- Two Mix
Another catchy techno song. It's very energetic and something you could really dance to. Again, the instrumentals are my favourite part of the song, especially before the girls sing.
If you like this, try:

Welcome to this World- AAA
To tell you the truth, AAA (Attack All Around) is sorta a fusion between move and S Club 7. And this song is no exception. In the beginning before the singing the guys sing "All Right", which sounds completely like S Club 7. Or, the whole song sounds like S Club 7. Not to mention the lead female vocalist sounds like Megumi Hayashibara.
If you like this, try: S Club7, especially "Bring it All Back"

<lj:music>So Beautiful- OLIVIA</lj:music>

Yes the reviews for Aice5's album. As promised. I can't keep promises well but anyways let's go on.

Prologue of Aice5
Not much to say. It's a musicbox melody that's only a minute long.

Love Power
I'm not a big fan of this song. It sounds like the regular Starchild stuff as always. Although the rock interludes are quite interesting.
Rating (out of 5): 2.7
If you like this, try: Maaya Sakamoto, Get Back (Aice5)

Furi Furi (ふりふり)
This song's ok. It's by Masami Asano as the lead of this song. Sorta sounds like old school anime stuff.
Rating: 3
If you like this, try: DROPS, Shakunetsu no Hana by Kaori Nanao (no I haven't heard of the real thing but I've heard of a MIDI version and it sounds similar)

Word I Need
Sounds like tropical music blend with Starchild. Like most songs, it's a happy song.
Rating: 2.5
If you like this, try: Some song by Every Little Thing, Hello! Project

Yuujou Monogatari (友情物語)
At first when I heard of it it sounds interesting but now I don't like this song. It's too otaku-y.
Rating: 2.5
If you like this, try: Starchild music in general

Natural Fly
It's a slower song and more passive. But I'm not the biggest fan of it. Kinda nature like. The harps and synth.
Rating: 2.7
If you like this, try:

Shirai Tsuki (白い月)
I like this song. It's a dance like song and very catchy in a mysterious way. Great to play in nightclubs for some reason. (after hours). If you're a fan of Yuna from Negima, you'll love this song cuz Madoka Kimura (her seiyuu) leads it.
Rating: 4.2
If you like this, try: Nami Tamaki, I Will (dream)

Marble Locket (マーブルロケット)
My least favourite of the Aice5 image songs. Sounds like a babier version of Furi Furi. Sorry about that Akemi Kanda (voice of Asuna who I don't like)
Rating: 2
If you like this, try: Melocure

Lady Go!
An upbeat, feel good song. Sounds like rock n' roll Californian style. Bridge is funny when the girls keep adding "Go" after Lady one at a time within a time limit. (Sorta like the Ha! Ha! Game) Surprisingly Yui Horie is the leader of this song.
Rating: 2.7
If you like this, try:

Five Arrows
My favourite among the image songs and possibly my most favourite of the entire album. Most likely because it is completely different from the rest of the happy songs. The song sounds like late 90's hip pop/ r+b. One word of advice, Chiaki Takahashi (lead)'s rapping is random. Yes, I know I like the stuff from the typical.
Rating: 4.8
If you like this, try: Eminem (from the older days), Christina Aguilera before Stripped

Love & Dream
My other most favourite song in the album. It's the only newer song that isn't written by the girls. More trendy ish than the other songs like Five Arrows. Another song to dance to and shop.
Rating: 4.7
If you like this, try: Kumi Koda

Get Back
This song's ok I guess. Sounds like surf rock similar to Lady Go! Then this song becomes Para Para. Like the majority, Get Back sounds happy and feel good. I feel like I wanna eat, eat, eat eat bananas!
Rating: 3
If you like this, try: The banana song

Smile
A more ballady song. Not the best song.
Rating: 2
If you like this, try:

Epilogue of Aice5
Sounds exactly like the Prologue

Stardust (Aice5's theme)
This is more of a cheer than a song. This should have been in the beginning of the CD because it introduces the members of Aice5. A sci-fi theme. Sorta like those opening themes from Chinese TV shows.
Rating: 3.5
If you like this, try: Kelly Chen, Twins

    <lj:music>Brand New Day- Aice5</lj:music>

This is sort of like a music diary of all the good songs I've listened just like the one I did last year. Except the last year's one is rather incomplete so I'll complete it sometime. But let's move on to the songs that I liked the most in 2007 (until June). Aice5 Album songs are not included in this issue.

Sugi Sugite Baka Mitai- Maki Goto and Def. Diva
I like both versions. It's very dancy sorta like 90's techno. Listen to it someday. The Def. Diva version is sung by Maki Goto, Aya Matsuura, Natsumi Abe, and Rika (forgot her last name).
If you like this, try: All My Love (Yui Horie)

Listen!- Yellow Generation
The song is very catchy with a driving rock-rap like tune. You can dance to it lol. If I were to categories YG as a genre, they would be Rock & B, as both genres apply to this song.
If you like this, try: for some reason this sounds like something sung by some Chinese singer

Bad Girls- Nanase Aikawa
This is probably the song of the first half of this year. It's a song that you can dance to. Instrumentally, it is different from Nanase's music type (I like songs that are unique) as it is more club/Salsa over rock. For some reason this song has a "sexy" feeling but that's not what Nanase intends to do as seen in the video. This song should have been sung by PCD and have good choreography. or Britney Spears because you know what.
If you like this, try: Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears, Promiscuous (Nelly Furtado and Timbaland)(video)

Game Over- Kim Wilde
This song is from her new album in years. Like Nanase Aikawa, Kim returns to the old school rock sounds unlike her more dance songs like Born to be Wild and the like. It still sounds nice and I just love the fast rock tune. This is probably the most energetic of her songs.
If you like this, try: +44, Brand New Day (Aice5)

Let's go Rakuten Eagles- Def. Diva
Another song by Def. Diva. So far the band only has 2 songs (Sugi Sugite Baka Mitai is their other). Quite different because this song is more of a cheerleading song. Sounds like a new year anthem song, more like Chinese new year cuz of the instruments.
If you like this, try: Cheerleading songs in general (Misa, Sakurako and Madoka in Negima), carnival songs you go to in baseball domes.

Chase the Chance- Namie Amuro
This is before Namie Amuro's hip pop times. The song is more club dance in the 90's. I couldn't believe that Namie actually sounds like ANZA long ago.
If you like this, try:

Take a Shot- Nana Mizuki
It's a fast song and makes me wanna travel somewhere. Nana sounds a lot like Ayumi Hamasaki if I have mentioned on my "Heaven Knows" Review. The music sounds like action and speed.
If you like this, try:

Abilities- Nana Mizuki
This song's good too, but it's only been with me for a short time. Unlike "Take a Shot", this song is more "rock pop"
If you like this, try: B'z, Machi- Kaori Nanao, New Sensation- Nana Mizuki

Queen of the Night- Kelly Clarkson (English)
One of the several English songs I like. It's a remake of Whitney Houston's. The song has a funky rock like tune. I like this version better. Maybe it's newer, could be.
If you like this, try: Queen of the Night (Whitney Houston)

Nothing in the World- Atomic Kitten (English)
I've listened to more English songs this year eh? It's a slow ballad and it's quite emotional.
If you like this, try: Old school pop stars, like Mandy Moore

Sound of the Underground- Girls Aloud
faetis told me about her fandom toward Girls Aloud so give it a listen. Found a song that's quite catchy. Reminds me of driving around the city.
If you like this, try: Born to be Wild (Steppenwolf and Kim Wilde)

Puzzle- little by little
The song is infectiously addicting. You know, the bouncy beats that make you tilt your head sideways to the beat. It's cute sorta lol.
If you like this, try: Wake Up (Hilary Duff), Hilary Duff before her "Dignity" Album

熱くなれ (Atsukunare)- Maki Oguro
The song is somewhat dancy and it has an interesting rapping interlude too. Reminds me of those Japanese opening shows to the more reality TV stuff.
If you like this, try: Kohmi Hirose

アノヒト (Ano Hito)- Kaori Nanao
I like this song just like any other Kaori Nanao song I've listened to so far. Unlike "Mineral" and "Koi ha mai Kourita", this song is more slow and rock-pop. The beginning sounds like a lullaby music box. But later it gets quite drivy in a slow, funky way.
If you like this, try: Do As Infinity, B'z, Dancing Boy (Priscilla Chan)

Fantasia- Hekiru Shiina
I just couldn't describe this. One thing I have to say about this song. Horror rock. No I'm not saying the song is bad but the tune of it sounds like something from some horror movie.
If you like this, try: a horror movie soundtrack, Maze of the Dark (Evangeline, Chachamaru, and Sayo of Negima)

Re-Act- Olivia
This song is quite old before her "emo" days. The song is rather country rock with MIDI drums. Remember the old days when MIDI was around and you hear those instrumental and synthy drum beats? Nowadays MIDI is pretty much dead. Try to find "Sexyback" in MIDI robot and see what you could find.
If you like this, try: Make Over (Chistina Aguilera)

Brand New Day- Aice5
Since this song is not part of their album which I will review sometime later, I'll review this song here. This is the opening to an anime called Mao Chan. The song is energetic with a sorta like punk pop rock tune.
If you like this, try: Perfect Girl (Kim Wilde), Billy Talent, Pain- Jimmy Eat World

Aikoi- FictionJunction YUUKA
It's obvious that this song is foreignlike. You know, the Indian stuff and violin tunes with a modernized dance beats. Try belly dancing to this song.
If you like this, try: Stranger (Hilary Duff), Indian music, Bond Girls

Hope this one's better.
This new layout is OLIVIA, aka emolivia or otherwise known as Olivia Lufkin. In a way she is similar to ANZA. Both biracial and bubblegum pop singers turned dark rockers. Well kinda. They have similar songs too. Enjoy the layout!

*where did I got this image from?*

Pretty various stuff that happened and will happen.

1. Yui Horie reg. Arts Vision Scandal. Yeah I've heard the news about the scandal of the chairman molesting a 16 year old seiyuu wannabe. Good thing Yui Horie is not involved in it, as well she has claimed to have left the company.
One ridiculously funny picture.
ROFL. *it's fake actually*

2. Spice Girls comeback in 6 years. I wasn't really a big fan of them because I don't know them really well. But they've got a lot of good songs. They may sound different now. Let's see about that. (Note to Elsa: not fake)

3. Harry Potter's 7th book. I'm not a Harry Potter fan or anything. Everyone's way to excited about it. "Oh Harry's gonna die on that book!" or "Voldemort don't die!" is what everyone's gonna say. Remember, if you're only going to the Chapters or Indigo's for generic purposes, don't go when the book is released. Warning: crowd of campers present.

4. Aice5 is gonna split. T_T That's so disappointing they're one of my favourite bands ever. They say they're gonna perform for the last time before their split. Sept. 20 this year on Yui Horie (founder)'s birthday. (as well as Namie Amuro's and Yuna Ito's what a mere coinsidence) But fortunately I couldn't wait for their new releases.

Yesterday and today I finally managed to finish watching the whole series. In raw, sorry fansub fans theres no other choice.
I watched episode 20-26 and theres more, or less.
I just like to watch the girls transform into the pactios. Except on the last episode they're not really doing anything. No battle or anything like that which is a waste cuz we don't exactly know what the point of transforming is. Gainax should somewhat put more battle scenes especially in the finale.
A bit disappointing toward Makie in this season. They make her look stupid and can't do anything. And what happened to her as a sports girl? (she hangs out with Ayaka now more than Yuna or Ako or Akira) and her ribbon stuff is gone.
Hopefully I could do a "Gainax Negima on Trial" or an AMV that I could point out every mistake the class do. Well at least, the graphics are a lot better than Xebec, but I enjoy the character development of the characters more in the older season. Well, except for the really minor roles like Zazie and Satsuki. lol they talk every episode.

Now I've got Negima over with, now let me get some free time for the rest of my summer to do list.

I've got a lot of Int. Design and a bit of art. I also had this launcher thing last week so I'm pretty much isn't here for over a week. I don't think I need to update this that often. No one's gonna go on lj anymore (evil FB).
Ok, I've uploaded 2 more brushes this weekend @ my deviant art. http://www.deviantart.com/azureluck

CCS stands for...

Haven't been in lj for a while. First of all I wuz sick. Second I have quite a lot of homework. But I feel like making another music review.

Catch You Catch Me- Gumi (aka meg rock or Megumi Hinata) (1st op)
This song is catchy, quite obviously. I used to like it a few years ago, so I haven't heard it for a while. If you like the beaty kiddish music you'll like this song.
If you like this, try: Groovy (Kohmi Hirose), Tobira wo Akete (ANZA)

Hitorijime(Gumi) c/w with Catch you catch me
The song is still upbeat, but with a more casual feel. It's not as dancy and has a more rock (well not too rock) sound.
If you like this, try:

Groovy!-Kohmi Hirose 1st ending
The music sounds jazzy dance pop, and probably the first CCS song I've heard while searching around in the internet. (long time ago thing lol) It's more grown up than Catch you Catch me, but still sounds great on the dance floor.
If you like this, try:

Tobira wo Akete- ANZA (2nd opening)
I like this song, well it's ok I guess. It's catchy and dancy. The song has an urban look to it. I think I have done a review for this song. See my ANZA review post
If you like this, try: Love & Dream (Aice5), Catch You Catch me (Gumi), Groovy! (Kohmi Hirose)

Mienai Chizu- ANZA (cw Tobira wo Akete)
Best song, ever. Again, see my ANZA review.
If you like this, try: Heaven Knows (Nana Mizuki), Star Jewel (Mayumi Asano)

Honey- chihiro (2nd ending)
The truth is, I don't like this song. The song is slow and melodic compared to the others. It sounds like a cross between cafe foley and hawaiian music.
If you like this, try: Paris Hilton

Purachina- Maaya Sakamoto (3rd opening)
Most people heard of this song and say this is the one they like most. Well, it's the most encouraging, and Maaya sure does have a natural voice.
If you like this, try: Koigokoro (Yui Horie, ehem NOT Nanase Aikawa or B'Z), Born to make you happy (Britney Spears)

24 Maaya Sakamoto (cw Purachina)
This song is in English. Yes I know. The lyrics are very weird. But the song still sound nice. Maaya can sing in English clearly, unlike most singers previously mentioned.
If you like this, try:

Fruits Candy- Megumi Kojima (3rd ending)
This is another song I don't really like. First of all Megumi sounds ridiculous. Second of all the melody didn't catch me. The music sounds crappy quality so don't ask me why I hate it but I just do.
If you like this, try:

Tooi Kono Machi de- Naomi Kaitani (1st movie)
And it's NAOMI KAITANI, NOT Naomi Kaiya or Minaya or whatever mistake everyone makes. This song is cool and tranquile. Sounds like you are in a harbour looking at the open water. More dramatic than humourus.
If you like this, try: Try Again (Kim Wilde)

Sepia no Hibi- Naomi Kaitani (cw Tooi Kono Machi de)
It's a slow song, and like the other song, Sepia no Hibi is calm and relaxing.
If you like this, try:

Ashita e no Melody-CHAKA (aka Mamai Yasunori) (2nd movie)
I do not know why this is a CCS song, but this song sounds more like 60's disco to me. Think of Gloria Gaynor and Donna Summers.
If you like this, try: I will survive (Gloria Gaynor), any song by Donna Summers (especially The Last Dance)

Blue as the Sky- CHAKA (cw Ashita e no Melody)
The song has practically nothing to do with the whole entire show! It sounds R+B with a bit of jazz feel to it. One of the longest songs (over 6 minutes) of CCS.
If you like this, try: Sugar Jones

This review isn't complete yet as you can see how empty the similar music is.

You must be lucky that you are one of the few healthy ones who don't get sick easily. It must be from the cold and icky Bloor cinema that must have made all of us sick, or half of us.
Thank goodness the reach tournament is cancelled. That way I could get some rest. It was orginally yesterday but then St. Robs couldn't come cuz of their PA day (lucky!). PS. Two years ago yesterday was the Geography challenge so it would be a mere coinsidence... ANZA!

Just now I watched the Pussycat Dolls: The search for the next doll finale. It was pretty surprising who won.

Well, the 7th pussycat dolls turns out to be Asia, the short statured PCD who has a 1 year old daughter. It's kinda a sad ending cuz so many people don't want her to win but she did. Most people want Melissa R to win, or Chelsea (she can't dance though so she probably wouldn't win anyways).
If Asia joined PCD, wouldn't the rest of the group be a little "weird" cuz they have a new person who could potentially ruin the band or something. "I always got the feeling if a 7th person joined something bad would happen." Who knew?

Ok better Asia than Sisely, the rocker girl who would probably for certain ruin PCD if she won. Good thing she's gone in the first few episodes. I'm not a PCD fan or anything, but the show in general is great, just not the sudden ending where Asia wins.
Earlier today this afternoon we had a real terrible thunderstorm and a blackout. The hydropoles near where I live came down during the storm. We had a blackout for 3 hours. At first I thought it would be another big blackout that would last a long time. (might not have school tomorrow?) But not so long ago the electricity was restored. I finally could use a bit of light. Phew, at least it didn't last that long after all.
